What is the difference between mGive.com and The mGive Foundation (mgive.org).
The mGive Foundation is a 501C3 organization that vets and certifies qualifying
nonprofit organizations to use the mobile giving channel. The mGive Foundation also
facilitates the flow of funds from the wireless carriers to the recipient nonprofit
organization. We are proud to partner and provide certification and donation
processing for mGive.com and other mobile vendors.
mGive.com, a division of Mobile Accord, is a for profit entity that works with nonprofits
to implement mobile campaigns and solutions in addition to mobile donations.
Why do I need to work with both The mGive Foundation and mGive.com?
The mGive Foundation works with the carriers to certify nonprofit organizations
and facilitate the funds. mGive.com actually provides the technical components
needed for mobile campaigns. Their services provide all of the tools necessary
to connect donors to nonprofit organizations.
How long does it take for my charity to receive the funds?
Generally, the typical timeframe for remittance is based upon the billing cycles
of the donors. Once you pay your cell phone bill, the wireless carrier pays 100%
of your donation to the mGive Foundation. This can take, on average, anywhere from
30-90 days depending on the wireless carrier.
Do you remit via check or electronic transfer?
In order to ensure expeditious payment to nonprofit organizations, The mGive Foundation
asks participating NPOs to complete an ACH form to transfer funds electronically.
How do I know if my organization is eligible?
Please view our guidelines.
How fast can I start promoting my campaign?
Once we receive your completed application packet, we process it within one week.
Campaigns can be promoted 2 weeks following the TMF approval.
Is there a processing charge associated with my donation?
The mGive Foundation does not charge a fee to nonprofits for processing donations.
A nonprofit’s mobile vendor, the agency working to provide mobile services (For
example mGive.com), may charge a processing fee.
